Our Performing Arts Courses
Ballroom Dance includes: the classic Waltz, glitz and glamour of the Foxtrot, rock & roll with the Swing, Disco, the dramatic Tango... and learn how Latin culture influenced dances like Rumba, Mambo, and Cha-cha. Students learn to dance with a partner, increase social skills, connection, confidence, etiquette & mutual respect across all genders.
Salsa, Merengue, Cha-cha, Cumbia, Bachata. Students learn how to connect to a partner through different rhythms and the history of these dances. This program is an excellent way to bridge Latin and American culture. Some of our schools use this as their dual-immersion introduction for students K-5th.
Lights, Camera, Action! Tap dancing, top hats, stage, acting & musical theatre, this program is sure to get even the shyest student "Puttin' on the Ritz!" Students will learn a fun, energetic number from popular Broadway or Great American Songbook music and then perform it live in a local theatre-setting.
Hip hop is a culture and art movement created by African American and Latino American youth in the Bronx in New York City in the 1970s. Some of the styles include break dancing, popping & locking. Students start with a dynamic warm-up, learn choreography from professional commercial artists, are encouraged to create their own style and expression, and taught how to connect to their own sense of self-worth and identity.
Bollywood is the dance form used in Indian films. It's a mixture of Belly-dancing, Kathak, Indian folk & Western popular dances such as Modern and Jazz. The term "Bollywood" was created by combining Hollywood & Bombay (Mumbai) which is the heart of India's film industry. Students will learn this fusion of styles for a culturally enriching experience of this joyful dance!
Zumba® Kids features kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba® that encourages a fit and healthy lifestyle by showing kids that exercise can be fun. Zumba® Kids is a nonstop, high-energy dance party that includes fun dance routines, games and cultural exploration of different dance styles while keeping kids moving!
Future Offerings
Confidence, respect, courage, self-discipline & self-control. Caring leadership, focus, conflict resolution, and coping mechanisms for anxiety and stress. This defines our Mixed Martial arts kids program. This is a no-contact, actively engaged program that allows students to safely learn anti-bullying techniques, basic self-defense, social & life skills for today's new school reality.
Yoga can help increase an awareness of the Mind-body connection as it relates to movement and being present through meditation, enhanced social/emotional skills and body image. It is only from a relaxed, calm and present state of mind and body that our children can be psychologically and physiologically learning-ready.
